Founded in 1979, the Center for Traditional Louisiana Boat Building is located at 202 Main Street in Lockport.  The Center does research into wooded boat building throughout South Louisiana.  Materials such as photographs, slides, oral history tapes and artifacts, are located in the office of the director in Lockport and available to the public.
