About Lockport, Louisiana

The Town of Lockport, through the Mayor and Council, has as its mission to be responsive to the needs of the citizens by providing a safe and wholesome community where citizens can enjoy adequate services such as police protection, modern drainage, sewerage and street systems, cultural and recreational facilities such as museums, parks, and athletic playing fields. As well, the mission encompasses efforts to preserve the rich heritage of the town through the revitalization of the Main Street area with plans to establish a historic district.
